The letter composed to send to maurice to see if he would be willing to take part in the skill exchange library's archive:
Dear Maurice,
As Pip will have
informed you, the second part of your fashion workshop will be happening in the
Matthew Gallery in Minto House on Chamber Street at 5.30pm. We’re really
grateful that you’re willing to hold this session in this different space, as a
part of a project that my friend Sarah and I are starting to develop.
Perhaps you would like
to know a little about this project…
We are in the process
of establishing a ‘Skill Exchange Library’. We are fascinated and passionate
about the skills and hobbies that people enjoy and partake in along their
professional lives. We wish to archive these skills and in doing so work with
sound to energise and revive them, as they are so often underappreciated.
We envisage creating
mini podcasts of individual skills and therefore ask if you don’t mind the
class being recorded on Monday night?
The Matthew Gallery
space is very practical for holding such a class – there is a lot wall space
for pinning up drawings, the floor is clear for erecting tables or chairs and
there are spot lights to illuminate specific areas.
We look forward to
hosting you class on Monday and refreshments will of course be provided!
If you have any
questions or would like to see the space, then please let us know.
Jess and Sarah from
The Skill Exchange Library
